Gus, Nadine, Vic and Guy all completed their Enriched Air Nitrox with Adam. Here's to longer recreational bottom times, less nitrogen etc etc ...... nitrox rocks!
November 29th - December 4th
What a week. 5 guys (who have to remain nameless) completed their Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses in 6 days, in preparation to go on an expedition. The challenge was even greater given that the weather was freezing - water temps of 6 degrees and land -2 degrees one morning .... oh yes, and they were not all keen on water to say the least! True respect as they all conquered fears and made it down to the bottom on their deep dive at Vobster with smiling faces.
Thank you to Disco, John, and our superb assistants. I have just abouth thawed out now!

On a chilly, wintry weekend our 3 intrepid divers achieved awesome results at Wraysbury!
Vic completed his open water course, his dry suit specialty and embarked on his AOW with Nick. Meanwhile, Mark and Guy completed their UW Navigation specialty with Lynne .... a tip for next time... read the bearing not the distance! Their final navigation was superb and a real achievement. True mastery.

Freediving - Angelica, Jeremy, Sarah, Sarah, Pedja, Guy, Linda, Sean, Richard, Ashley and Lea had their first experience of free diving. They learned breath control techniques that meant they could breath-hold for up to 3 minutes - amazing

Aquanaut ventured to Wraysbury where our students showed the other divers how it should be done!
Angelica took Nadine, Gus, Paul, and Tessa for their Open Wtaer dives. The guys were exceptional and mlore than earned their certification ... they couldn't wait to get back in the water for more!
Lynne took Ashley and Steve for the Rescue Diver and Underwater Navigation Specialty. Not only was the missing diver found in seconds, but both Ashley and Steve navigated their way to 5 points in Wraysbury finding places never seen before - and they did this with supreme precision. Well done!
A big thank you to Mike, John, Rory and John for their assistance that weekend - a great team

Paul Toomer ran an 'Intro to Tech Diving' evening where we had the chance to try out twinsets and what it was like to dive with 2 tanks. Joseph, Sarah, Matt, Shaun and Robin all are now converted to the 'Dark Side'.

Using our brand new Nitrox compressor, Paul Toomer took Lynne, Ian, John, Robin, Anna and Andy through their DSAT Gas Blender. All qualified with flying colours and can't wait for all the Aquanaut customers to turn up for their Nitrox fills!

Alexander was an absolute star completing his Discover Scuba with John. Andy and Steve did their AI confined water teaching presentations (and passed) with 2 very willing and entertaining 'students' Jonathan and James. Oscars on their way to J & J!
Vanessa and Chris couldn't keep out the water for a full week, so did their dry suit orientation with Steve.
Lesley had a bubble with Richard, and Mike, Ashley and Adam all tried out new kit and just enjoyed being under water

Wow what a busy weekend
A monster open water group of divers qualified with Angelica, Sam, Sarah, Gary and John - Huge congratulations to all as the weekend was massive fun - Vanessa, Lois, Chris, Peter, Richard, Rose, Eric, Chrissie, Laura, Julian.
Meanwhile Ivan comleted his dry suit.
The hilarity really came though with Troy and Mike on their rescue course. There was no limit to the number of volunteers to act as victims and bystanders ..... however I understand the Underwater Navigation Specialty is definitely in order!

Fun and drinks at the Aquanaut BBQ. I am saying very little about the event for fear of incrimination ...... but it was superb fun, superb weather, great food and an ingenious mobile freezer (the wheel barrow!)

The evening saw Aquanaut Dive Club's first 'Free Diving Session' Laura, Jonathan, Sam, Robin, Keith, Ruth, Jon, Pete, all learned how to control their breathing and go to sleep under water, and then free dive down to the depths of the diving pit - awesome. Also Michelle, Nicola, Harry, Damian, Clare and Steve all completed their scuba review with Steve and Gary, Dave, Andy and James successfully Discovered Scuba with John, Steve learned to dive in a dry suit with Lynne.

Aquanaut Dive Club went in search of Basking Sharks in Porthkerris. A superb time was had by all.

A whole gang of pupils from Shrewsbury House School had a superb time learning to scuba dive and zoom around on the underwater scooters as part of their Activity Week. 3rd
