Another busy week including 18 students starting thier Open Water Referrals, and 12 Seal Team embarking on their first Aquamission!

Well done to John for completing his EFR Instructor and Duncan and Robert for flying through their HSE First Aid at Work Instructor. Also for Ness and Duncan completing thier HSE First Aid at Work course with Linda.

Meanwhile in the water, Mark and Isobel were awesome on their rescue course with Nick, despite freezing weather. Alos well done to Lisa for braving the cold to do her dry suit specialty. Philip also did a great job on his scuba review with Luke

Let the diving continue!
So what if the temperature has cooled down? Vis has improved and dry suits are there to keep you toasty warm.

So well done to Chris for completing his AOW, Brian for completing his AOW and dry suit specialty. Not forgetting of course the Halloween night dive and the pumpkins which may well haunt them both forever!!!

Also Ronan and Iara were absolute stars in completing their Open Waters with Bene.

In thew pool, Holly and Iain were fantastic on their OW referrals with Steve and Kyla was awesome on her DSD with Linda.

Phew, an amazing effort all round - well done guys!!

We are having an awesome weekend diving in Plymouth, and enjoying the sunshine.
Meanwhile in the pool and open water we have some fantastic achievements as more divers further their training with us.

I love the summer - so much going on!

Congratulations to Richard, Sian, Kate, James who all completed scuba reviews with Steve.
Also to Sharon, Ruby, Lily, James who all Discovered Scuba with Linda.

In the open water Bruce, Cameron, Kirsten, Laurence did an amazing job and all became PADI Open Water divers and Anthony, Nikki, Isabelle all certified as dry suit specialists. Thank you to Mel and Linda their instrucors.

Meanwhile out at sea the club dived at a sunny Exmouth, and Taff led a lively group of Nick, Pauline, Louis, Jon & Zoe for an awesome weekend at Weymouth diving with
Fathom and Blues for a UK Orientation. ~I think we have converted 5 divers to the joys of UK waters!

We have loads of people to congratulate....

Firstly - amazing achievement by Bene (one of our Instructors) who successfully completed her first ever 100m dive .... yes you did read that correctly 100m!

On a slightly less extreme topic, well done to Marie and Gordon for completing their dry suit orientations, Kayleigh for completing her DSD, and Steven & Rob for their Open Water Referral.

Our junior diver program continues and David, Jack, Adrian, Bobby and George all completed their course in style!

More fun was had at our Peak Peformance buoyancy pool night when Pierre and Naoto underwent a number of challenges to fine-tune their buoyancy.

Finally, Shelly, Andy, Andy and Martin got their cameras out and practised their under water photography skills in the pool, and then Andy, Andy and Martin headed to Wraysbury to tackle photography in the open water with some exceptional results.

It's official.... Aquanaut Divers are officially nuts! A group including keith, Adam, Bene, Jon, Jem and Sean headed off to Wraysbury today for some serious ice diving!
Those who had iced dived before set off for their explorations. the others underwent tuitionto qualify as Ice Divers.
The pictures speak for themselves - awesome. ..... however I fully appreciate ice diving is not for everyone ..... and I would highly recommend a dry suit!

On 28th December 14 mad fools / enthusiastic divers (dependant on your opinion!!) headed to Wraysbury for the annual Christmas Ice Breaker. The water was a chilly 4 degrees but the visibility was reasonable. Great dives were had by all ..... let's face it, it was just great to get in the water and shake off the Crimbo excesses!Numerous cupos of tea / coffee were drunk, and then the group headed off to the local hostelry for re-hydration and a scrummy hot meal!

With the ghosts and ghouls ready to spook us, Aquanaut took the opportunity to get some serious diving in at Vobster.

Congratulations to Andy, Bernie and Jason who all completed their Deep and Wrecks specs with Taff; Julia, Nicola, Charles and Matthew who did their dry suit with Gary; Daniel Charles, Nicola and Matthew also completed their Advanced Open Water with Gary.

The weekend highlight was then night diving Vobster, and the BBQ and bonfire they laid on for entertainment which created a fabulous atmosphere. Thank you to the whole team for making it such a great weekend.

This afternoon 9 brave 8-9 year olds took their first ever breaths on scuba equipment and were amazing - they loved every minute of it ... roll on Seal Team. So well done to Alfie, Jack, Kiam, Omar, Archie, Aidan, Ben, Raj and Cameron ...and a big thank you to Linda, Jon and Bene for teaching

Wow, what a bust week!

Finally, Mark, Martin, Amanda and David headed off to Swanage for their UK orientation weekends. A huge amount was learned as divers got to grips with the temperature, vis, currents etc and some some great wrecks, zoomed miles in a roaring drift and caught crabs (not literally!!)
A fantastic weekend was had by all - when the rib was available some of our club divers hijacked it and checked out local wrecks such as the Carantan and Kyarra. Many thanks to Dean for his boat captaincy!

The club made it's first trip to the marine reserve at Lundy, off the Devon coast.
Despite the disappointment of being blown out on Saturday, Sunday and Monday bought better luck and conditions, and SEALS!

The landscape was stunning, but most impressive were the beautiful seals - amazing creatures who took a particular interest in the Whelan's fins!

The weekend was fabulous over all - loads of fun and an amazing experience.

This weekend Aquanaut Dive Club hit Wittering for a great weekend of diving. Vis was good, the sun was out and all divers had a sense of humour!
The rib took us to a great mixture of dive sites and the trip was a superb way to start the season.

This weekend 7 mad divers headed off to Swanage for a UK orientation with Robin and John.
Eric, Guy, Julian, Vic, Chris, Chris and Mike went searching for life under Swanage pier on the Saturday and then joined the crew of Sidewindr for their first UK boat dives on the Sunday. Despite the vis being somewhat poor in places, we had 9 happy divers, all converts to UK sea diving! Next trips Wittering and lundy

Where do I start!

31 intrepid divers headed on Eurostar to the Belgian capital, armed with their diving gear! Hidden on the outskirts of Brussels is Europe's deepest pool (34.7m to be precise!)

All 31 made it in one piece to the pool and had superb fun venturing down to the deep, investigating the caves and starting at the divers in the bar outside.

If that wasn't enough 29 divers then headed out into Brussels centre for a stunning evening meal and some re-hydration .... and most of them made it back eventually after some rather dodgy tabletop dancing at a local Irish Nightclub (?!?! so I am told!!)

Not surprisingly the Eurostar home was a little more subdued!
